( lilith had contacted her earlier in the day, providing ella with her address in jeopardy before making the necessary preparations -- tea, cookies and supplies. she'd gotten candles set out across the room, curtains drawn, using them and the light from the fire to keep the room bright. candlelight would work better for what they wanted than natural light, particularly with the energy she hoped to cultivate.
once ella had arrived she'd greeted her, offering tea and cookies as she led her to the centre of the room. where ella will find two cushions set out on the floor, directed to sit on one rather than the couch. sometimes the simpler methods were better )

( she waited until ella had sat, magically lighting the remaining candles before seating herself, crossing her legs as she did )
[In some ways it’s just a reflex for Ella to sit on the floor, even without the cushion and she finds herself mirroring Mary’s posture. It’s still weird for her to have the candles lit magically but it’s the normal sort of weird now. Kinda like background noise almost. It's impressive of course but the normal sort of impressive and Ella gives Mary a quick smile before she nods.]
Yeah, I mean there's tons of weird stuff going on? But it's definitely something that I'm thinking a lot about when I'm supposed to be sleeping. Cause sleep and me we aren't normally on the best of terms, ya know?
[Then there was a quick grin before she looks more serious and offers:]
But yeah, I definitely want to learn about it. Especially with everything going on right now. Not really a huge like fighter person. Not like on this scale anyway.
( lilith nods and there's a quick gesture with her hand that sees a mirror from the nearby table flying into her hands, grasped before being placed between them on the floor )

[For a moment, Ella just considers, because she hasn't tried to put any of this into words, not since she was a kid. Not since she was a kid and her family had considered her to be pretty crazy around it. And you know the kids at school and stuff weren't much better. Taking a breath, Ella just tries to think about the first time that she saw them, even before she'd had her accident and had almost died and first met Rey Rey.]
Okay, with some people it's like. Sort of colors. Kinda hidden. Like never really overt, unless it's like a giant "get the hell out of here" thing. There's been some of those.
[Ella purses her lips together for a moment, because she's still annoyed that some of them weren't well. There wasn't one with Pierce. But then again when it comes to like someone who would have time and the car to stop that happening, it definitely would have been Cain to have it done. So she shouldn't blame it. But she does.]
With some people, well Celestials I guess, it's way more... There. Like when Charlotte wasn't Charlotte and her being was just sort of surrounded by light. Even it could be sharp.
[A beat, because Lucifer's mother wasn't really like nice. But she continues.]
Sometimes there's nothing. Even when I want it to be. Like when I'm trying to figure out if one of my brothers are up to something shady. They're normally up to some shady stuff.
It's helpful more than it's not. But they're like flashes or flickers out of the corner of my eye normally. And a lot of the time they're combined with a feeling.
( there's a very brief nod in response, lilith understanding the feeling, knowing how it could be frustrating. it had been a long time but a part of her still remember gaining control over her magic, doing what she wanted when she willed it )

( her gaze focuses on the candle just aside from them, a small puff of air from her causing the flame to briefly magnify as if showing her point. she'd intended to raise the flame and thus it had )

( she was a witch yes but there was also more to lilith that may help with ella's task. she was a demon. and her aura was very large and clear )
[For a moment, Ella just closes her eyes and takes several deep breaths. When she'd wanted to see things before, they had never really come that quickly, but somehow today even before she opens her eyes, Ella can see red behind her eyelids. It's like how you look up at the sun through them, and for a moment, she wonders if that's what's happening before she opens them quickly.
The red is still there, and not only is it there, but it's huge.
But more than that, there's a sense of power in her, a sense of power that Ella has only really felt a few other times before. Lucifer, of course, and Amenadiel, and Charlotte when she'd Lucifer's mother inside of her. In some ways, that's the thing that feels the most familiar: Lucifer's mother and for a moment, Ella's lip just drops open. Her voice is very soft and awed:]
